Arequipa – Chivay and Colca Canyon
2 Days & 1 Night

Day 1: AREQUIPA – CHIVAY – LA CALERA HOT SPRINGS

Starting from 07:30 a.m., our local guide will pick you up from your hotel (downtown Arequipa) to begin our journey. We will head to Pampas Cañahuas (Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), habitat of beautiful South American camelids like vicuñas and guanacos, as well as migratory birds like flamingos and Andean seagulls. Afterward, we will reach the Volcanoes Viewpoint, the highest part of the road at 4,800 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Western Andes. At around 1:30 p.m., we will arrive in Chivay and, after lunch, settle into our accommodation.

At 3:30 p.m., we will visit the popular La Calera thermal baths, a paradisiacal site to relax in its thermal waters. Later, we will return to our lodging.

Day 2: CHIVAY – CRUZ DEL CÓNDOR – AREQUIPA

After a tasty breakfast at 06:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Chivay to head to the Natural Viewpoint: Cruz del Cóndor. During the journey, marvel at the beautiful landscapes of the Colca River and the ancestral agricultural terraces. Our local guide will provide you with information about the different indigenous groups that inhabited and still inhabit the Colca Valley.

At the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, you can admire the natural beauty of the canyon and witness the majestic flight of the Condors as you take short walks in the surroundings. Afterwards, we will return to Chivay, making stops in typical villages like Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, which host beautiful colonial churches. In Chivay, we will enjoy a buffet lunch and finally return to the city of Arequipa, with an estimated arrival at around 5:00 p.m.
